New Energy Study Shows Impact of "Keep It On The Ground" Policy

As environmental organizations work toward their goal of keeping fossil fuels in the ground, a new study released Wednesday by the American Petroleum Institute (API) highlights the impacts this type of national energy policy would have on the U.S. economy and jobs.

The key findings of the study show a loss of 5.9 million jobs, a loss of $11.8 trillion in cumulative gross domestic product (GDP) and a potential increase in annual household costs of $4,552. In addition, the study estimates that the price of crude would increase by $40 a barrel (WTI), the price of natural gas would rise $21 per million Btu and electricity rates would go up 56.4 percent.

EPA Moves To Enact Trump Order

Court of Appeals Upholds MPSC Order in Antrim Vacuum Case

On March 21, 2017 the Michigan Court of Appeals issued a ruling on the decision of the Michigan Public Service Commission (MPSC) to allow companies to operate wells in the Antrim formation under vacuum.

IPAA Call to Action: BLM Venting and Flaring Under Congressional Review

IPAA would like to encourage your participation on a time-sensitive matter that needs your urgent attention. The Obama Administration finalized a number of rules during the waning months in office.

Some of these regulations, that are harmful to our industry, were pushed out due to political ideology rather than a carefully measured and studied need for change.

One such regulation that the Senate is expected to take a vote on next week is the Bureau of Land Management’s (BLM) Methane and Waste Prevention Rule, also known as the Venting and Flaring Rule.
