Amanda Hattis - Managing Editor and Director of Communications
Amanda Hattis joins MOGA as the managing editor of the Michigan Oil & Gas News and director of communications of the Michigan Oil & Gas Association and is tasked with growing MOGA communications initiatives both internally and externally. Hattis will play a key role in planning, directing and coordinating MOGA communications efforts with knowledge that was developed through many years of association communications experience and an in-depth knowledge of various media platforms.
Prior to MOGA, Hattis served as the director of communications at Acuitas, a Lansing-based multi-client government affairs firm, and as the director of communications at the Michigan Forest Products Council. Hattis also has experience working at a large public relations firm in Chicago. She is a graduate of Michigan State University with a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Studies in Agriscience with concentrations in Communication and Community Engagement and Education.
When Amanda isn’t cheering on the Michigan State Spartans with her husband Jeff, sons Thomas and Alexander, and their yellow lab Duffy, she can be found in Alpena, Mich., helping on her family’s cash crop farm.
