Scott Bellinger - Managing Editor & Advertising Director - MOGN
Michigan Oil & Gas News Managing Editor Scott Bellinger, a native of Mount Pleasant, Michigan, attended Central Michigan University and Michigan State University, studying journalism at both institutions.
He was hired as a photographer and staff writer at Michigan Oil & Gas News in 1982, prior to that working as chief photographer at the Hillsdale Daily News in Hillsdale, Michigan and as a staff photographer at the Morning Sun newspaper in Mount Pleasant.
He was promoted to the position of associate editor of Michigan Oil & Gas News in 1983, became senior editor in 1989 and was named editor in 1992. In October 2001 Bellinger was named managing editor, supervising all Michigan Oil & Gas News editorial and advertising functions.
Michigan Oil & Gas News is considered by many to be the publication of record for Michigan’s oil and natural gas industry, and Bellinger has played a role in keeping that record for nearly 40 years as the longest serving employee of MOGN since the business became a subsidiary of the Michigan Oil and Gas Association (MOGA) in 1973.
Bellinger and his wife, Lori Rogers, herself an editor of Michigan Oil & Gas News in the late 1970s, enjoy getting away to their cabin near Marquette in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula.
